Class 1, Feb 2:

 

Welcome! Today we will give an introduction to the course, followed by an overview of bioacoustics, basic/applied science and active research areas in bioacoustics.

 

Learning outcomes:

 

  • You will be able to discuss how we define science and compare and contrast basic and applied science.

 

  • You will be able to define bioacoustics, identify different components of the field and describe a few examples of active research areas.
